Greenwich Tunnel is built by Marc Puricelli as a free, community-supported app.
This app collects minimal data:
Community lift reports. If you submit a community report about lift status, the app stores the reported lift status, the report time, the app version, and a device-derived hashed identifier in Apple's CloudKit public database. The hash is used only to limit duplicate reports and calculate community consensus. Reports are visible to other app users, but they are not linked to your name, email address, or Apple Account in the app.
Notification preferences. Your notification settings are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. They are not transmitted to any server.
Status data. The app fetches publicly available lift status information from the Royal Borough of Greenwich website. No personal data is sent in these requests.
Community reports are stored in Apple's CloudKit public database. Apple manages this infrastructure. The app does not ask you to create an account, but CloudKit stores the report fields described above so the community reporting feature can work. See Apple's privacy policy for details on how Apple handles CloudKit data.
This app does not knowingly collect data from children. The community reporting feature does not require an in-app account, but it does store report metadata, including a device-derived hashed identifier and app version, as described above.
